Dr Tania Churchill

  • Senior Partner - Data and Networks

    Dr Tania Churchill is a Data Scientist and Engineering leader comfortable tackling complex, ambiguous projects that provide real world value.

    After working in academia and the private sector, Tania spent a decade within Federal Government, most recently as AUSTRAC’s Head of Data Science, and Deputy CIO. There, she established and led several large projects, most notably a project that researched and developed privacy preserving algorithms that allow criminal activity to be surfaced through flexible queries, while protecting the privacy of innocent citizens.

    She has a proven ability to build data science, data governance and engineering teams, and set the strategy to deliver business outcomes.

    As an experienced technology communicator and sought after speaker, Tania has the ability to explain complex concepts in an approachable manner.

    Tania is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the ANU, and her qualifications include a PhD and Masters in Information Technology from the University of Canberra.

  • Senior Partner - Strategy and Risk

    Carl has over 29 years experience in strategy, compliance and capability development in the fields of foreign policy, strategic intelligence and management.

    Most recently as National Manager, Intelligence Capabilities, for Australia’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), AUSTRAC, he conceptualised and oversaw the development of the ‘FIU of the Future’ model involving enhanced data analytics, selection of analytical tools and development of capability for law enforcement, national security and financial services outcomes.

    His skills include delivering in varied cultural environments, superior communication, advanced project management and elite advocacy. With an unusual blend of corporate, operational and capability development experience, he is known for innovative and strategic approaches to resolving challenges.

Dr Alex Antic
  • Strategic Advisor - Data and Networks

    Dr Alex Antic has over 20 years post-PhD experience and knowledge in areas that include Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, and Quantitative Analysis, developed across Federal and State Government, Asset Management, Insurance, Academia, Banking (Investment and Retail) & Consulting.

    In 2021, he was recognised as one of the Top 5 Analytics Leaders in Australia by IAPA (Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia).

    He is an Executive Board Member of the Global AI Ethics Institute, and Senior Member and Certified Professional of the ACS (Australian Computer Society).

    Alex is an Adjunct Professor at RMIT University, UTS, and UNSW (Canberra) and his qualifications include a PhD in Applied Mathematics, First Class Honours in Pure Mathematics, and a double-degree in Mathematics & Computer Science.

    Alex is the author of Creators of Intelligence: Industry Secrets from AI Leaders (Packt, 2023).

  • Strategic Advisor - Governance and Investigations

    Skilled in investigations, governance, risk and compliance, Thomas applies legal, audit, intelligence, and project management experience to client requirements. He delivers comprehensive assessments and solutions to boards and C-suite.

    Locally and abroad, his solutions improve effectiveness, efficiency and legal compliance through program and process reviews, creating and improving governance programs, applying best practices and technologies, and assessing and developing staff.

    Thomas served the FBI for 22 years in national security, criminal and governance roles, conducting investigations, internal reviews, international engagement and capacity development. As an SES, he spearheaded international police agency assessments and created and delivered investigative, intelligence, forensic and training programs.

    Thomas holds a Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in accounting. He is a licensed attorney and Certified Public Accountant in the United States.

  • Strategic Advisor - Capacity Building and Training

    Sharyn has over 30 years experience in law enforcement, applying and teaching criminal and financial intelligence techniques, as well as designing and delivering intelligence frameworks and development programs nationally and internationally.

    Since 2007 Sharyn has been designing and delivering criminal and financial intelligence courses and frameworks in Australia, Africa, the Netherlands, India, and across the ASEAN countries and Pacific Islands for clients including INTERPOL, AUSTRAC, Egmont, UNODC and state and federal government agencies.

    She is the key architect and facilitator for the globally innovative Regional Financial Intelligence Analyst Course (FIAC) currently delivered to Australian, ASEAN and Pacific Financial Intelligence Units.

    Sharyn has a Master of Justice, majoring in organised crime and corruption investigation, as well as qualifications in applied management, public sector management and executive coaching.
